Jarly ("we", "our", "us") is a personal budgeting app. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is kept, and how you can delete it.
Short version: Your records stay on your phone. Jarly has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. An account is optional and is used for one thing only: keeping a backup copy of your records that you make yourself. You can delete the account and its backup at any time, from inside the app.
Everything you enter — transactions (amount, date, category, note), categories, your chosen finance model and its split, your currency and your settings — is stored locally on your device. It is not sent anywhere unless you choose to back it up (see section 2).
If you turn on the app lock, your passcode is stored only as a one-way hash in your device's secure storage. Fingerprint or face unlock is handled entirely by your device's operating system; Jarly never receives or stores biometric data.
You can use every feature of Jarly without an account. If you choose to create one, we collect:
The backup is sent over an encrypted connection and encrypted at rest by Google. It is not end-to-end encrypted. Access rules ensure that only your signed-in account can read or delete your backup. Google's servers may be located outside your country.
We use this data only to let you restore your records, for example on a new phone. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or analytics, and we do not sell or share it with anyone.
"Export everything" creates a file on your device, which you can share using your phone's share sheet. Where that file goes is your choice; Jarly does not upload it.
On your device: use Settings → "Erase everything", or uninstall the app.
Your account and backup: use Settings → "Delete account". This deletes your cloud backup first and then your account, immediately and permanently. The records on your phone are not touched. Signing out alone does not delete anything.
If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion here: Delete your Jarly account.
Jarly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Only if you create an account, Jarly uses:
